The Hudson River - Part Three - Into New York City

From West Point we continued down the lush banks of the Hudson flanked now by the Catskill mountains to our destination of Croton-on-the-Hudson, NY where we met up with up Ricky and Nancy, two of my more seafaring and adventurous relatives, that  live a only a few hours away by car, and wanted to meet "Grace".
We spent the evening enjoying a wonderful meal at the tiny and much coveted "Ocean House Restaurant".  The next morning we took off back down the river towards our next destination of  New York City.

The downside of all those trees!
We had a ball seeing the sights with Nancy and Ricky, their curiosity and enthusiasm rivaled our own.

A little "Upward Dog" on the bow anyone?
As we passed the infamous prison "Sing Sing" we all commented on what a gorgeous view the prisoners have. Nancy did some research and found out that "The original prison was built in 1825 and that's why people started using the phrase being sent "up the river' when someone was condemned to prison. They were going 'up the Hudson River' to Sing-Sing."Ah ha, it all makes sense now (love when that happens)!

You know you're getting closer to the city when you see this. You don't see Blimps in the Midwest very often!

Nancy, I remember you pointing this out as something significant, but I can't remember what it is. Do you?
Also, what is Ricky pointing at?

Thank you Ricky and Nancy for sharing this adventure with us!

Now onward out through New York harbor and out into the Atlantic...

A wondrous journey to all,

Pam
