After an uneventful overnight journey from the BVI's we arrived at the island of Anguilla. While not a British Virgin Island, it is a British dependent territory.
In stark contrast to our previous two and a half months, we rested, caught up on business affairs, went for long walks and finished reupholstering all of our cushions (YES!). Anguilla, being a very quiet island, was the perfect spot to do this.
Almost every morning of our one week stay we awoke to a rainbow and several "Volkswagon tire size" turtle sightings.
On our walks we enjoyed a diverse plethora of aviary wildlife...
goats roaming freely...
and spectacular vistas ...
Jeff has been on a quest for barbeque that rivals that from his hometown of Hutchinson, Kansas. He hasn't found one yet but we're still havin' fun looking! This, very popular to the locals, roadside barbeque used exotic sauces like Heinz ketchup and Hunts barbeque sauce.
Great "menu"! |
We ended our days by either sipping cocktails at the reknowned Elvis' Bar and watching "March Madness", or sipping cocktails in the cockpit while watching miraculous sunsets unfold. Take your pick...
We left Anguilla refreshed and ready for our next stop, Saint Martin/St Marteen.
A wondrous journey to all,
Pam
Hi Pam, Hi Jeff,
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking in. Sounds like you had time for the sunset view and March Madness, at your leisure.
Weather is finally nice here in the north, flowers coming, etc. Ricky just returned from Florida. Peter is getting ready to leave forColumbia. Whitney visited friends in California...and I nursed my broken arm. All good now, cast is off.
Love to you,
Nancy
Take care
